Welcome to Arundel Surgery

Arundel Surgery is a long-established practice, providing high-quality, traditional family medicine. We have retained personal lists to ensure continuity of care. We operate from a large, modern, purpose-built premises with ample parking and an on-site Lloyds Pharmacy.

The practice is almost equidistant from both Chichester and Worthing Hospitals.

Medical Students are attached to the practice for short periods of time and may be present during consultations.

Our Ethos

We believe that continuity of care is essential in general practice so that we get to know our patients and are fully aware of their problems. This means that it is easier for us to care for you effectively and better for you by not having to explain things to a different doctor every time you attend.

As such we are one of the last few practices in the area adhering to a system of “personal lists” whereby you are assigned to a specific doctor. Whilst this is viewed as rather “old-fashioned” these days, we believe that it offers you a more efficient, effective and personalised service.

However, demand for NHS resources grows every year and we now offer more appointments than ever, despite no increase in the number of doctors or resources. To try to meet this demand and ensure you can get an appointment on the day for an urgent problem, we offer an emergency surgery every morning and afternoon. We cannot guarantee that you will see your own doctor, just the next available one, but they will have access to your notes and will liaise with your own GP if needed.

Accessibility Needs

We want to get better at communicating with our patients and ensure you can read and understand the information we send you.

If you find it hard to read our letters or if you need someone to support you at appointments, please complete our Accessibility Needs Form below.

Registration

It is quick and easy to register with a GP using our simple online GP registration form. Whether you are new to the area or have never registered with a GP practice before, there is usually no need to come to the practice to complete your registration and no proof of address is required. We are a local GP Practice and have a catchment area for home visiting purposes, but we welcome patients from outside our practice boundary.

Meet our Team

Our clinical team includes 4 GPs, 1 Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Medical Secretaries, Patient Care Advisors and Administration Team.

The Patient Care Advisors make appointments, answer queries, give investigation results and perform many administrative tasks. At times, it may be necessary for them to make personal enquiries, on behalf of the doctors. This is necessary to guide the doctors as to the nature and urgency of a medical problem.

Please be assured, the Patient Care Advisers are bound by strict rules of confidentiality. They have a difficult job, so please be patient and help them to help you.
